I started my utility business in december 2001 as a way to earn some extra income to help pay off a credit card dept. Telephone, Mobile, Internet and 0800 numbers as well as the gas and electricity and all on one single bill. I compared their prices with my british gas bill and was impressed with the savings I could make. It was then that I noticed a link on how I could earn money as well as making the savings. I just thought what the hell, I'm going to go for it. I paid the registation fee and bingo, I was in business with the Utility Warehouse. Well now what do I do, I thought. My wife was not impressed with me spending that money on a registration free to start a business, especially with all that credit card dept. She was dead against the idea in the early days. The company offered me some free training in Halifax so I booked a day off work to attend the training. I used to have a regular 9 to 5 job in Hull as an electrical engineer in those days. Well talk about a life changing experience, the training was first class and although my life didn't change from that actual moment, my thinking certainly did, and for the better I might add. Within six months I was in profit and actually got all my money back. People are doing that in their first month into the business these days as the training and support is much better. Well after that there was no looking back. Month after month the payments just got bigger and bigger. I was now clearing my mortgage and credit card payments every month and with so little effort. At this point my wife had quite warmed to the idea that this business had been a good investment. Well here I am a few years later and a lot wiser, making a cracking income every month.
